ROGER DUNLOP

Roger is a partner of Ashwell Rogers and specialises in lease advisory work, rating appeals and valuations. He has over 35 years’ experience in the central London office market and the high street retail market throughout the UK. Aside from lease consultancy work, Roger has also recently been directly involved in finding, negotiating terms on and acquiring new London offices for certain retained occupier clients.

Originally from Northern Ireland, Roger studied at university in Edinburgh before gaining his professional qualifications whilst working for the Valuation Office Agency in central London.

Although actively involved with all types of commercial property, Roger has specialised in commercial landlord and tenant matters undertaking rent reviews, lease renewals, regears, lease restructuring and has provided other valuation and transactional based advice throughout the West End, Midtown and City districts of London. The majority of this work has been advising tenants on their central London offices, but he has also acted for several national retailers over this same period.

Roger is a skilled negotiator but also has considerable experience of third party proceedings (i.e. Arbitration and Independent Expert representations) and also in acting as an Expert Witness during Lease Renewal procedures.

In addition, he is also an experienced Rating Surveyor and a member of the Rating Surveyors Association. In this role, Roger provides advice on and undertakes Rating List Checks and Challenges for retained clients on both Central London offices and on retail properties throughout the UK as well as acting as a Rating consultant to several other Surveying Practices in the West End.

In his spare time, Roger is an eager but frustrated golfer and is also actively involved in his local church where he can occasionally be found preaching or leading the main Sunday morning service of worship.
